The Miller Dowel 2X is designed for joining wood up to
1 5/8" thick. The wide variety of dowels gives woodworkers the opportunity to blend similar woods or design combinations that contrast different species.
The 2X is ideal for use in wood projects where thicker wood is preferred for added strength such as in bedframes, decking, cabinetry, tables and shelving. And the 2X can serve as an effective, simple and easy alternative to traditional blind dowels, biscuits or mortise and tenon joinery.
The Miller Dowel 2X Joinery Kit includes 50 birch dowels and a TruFit® drill bit made of industrial strength high speed steel. The drill bit and bags of 40, 100 and 500 dowels of each species are also sold separately.

Also referred to as Roll, Tension and Expansion Pins. Hollow and slotted lengthwise to create tension, these self retaining Spring Pins are made of Carbon Steel which is stronger than 18-8 stainless steel; just as strong as Type 420 stainless steel. Zinc-plated steel is more rust resistant than plain steel. They are installed by two easy operations, just drill and drive. Useful for many purposes, including electrical connectors in patch board circuits, terminals, fixtures for wire harness, actuators for drum, to secure pulley or gear to shaft, hinges, positioning, studs and many others. Superior to and used in place of drive pins, taper pins, collar pins, etc. They permit a wider tolerance because of the flexibility. Tapered ends make starting easy.
The 416 stainless steel dowel pin has a plain finish and meets United States Military Standard MS 16555 specifications. The dowel pin is inserted into a hole to align and join components. It also can be used as a location guide. The 416 stainless steel grade provides corrosion resistance. The material is magnetic.Pins are non-threaded cylindrical fasteners that are inserted into one or more holes to fix a component's position, join components, or maintain alignment between them. Several different pin styles fit a variety of application and installation requirements. Dowel pins, for example, have a solid shaft that is often rounded or beveled at the ends. Quick-release pins have a button, handle, or ring at one end that releases retractable balls at the other end to act as a lock-and-release mechanism. Clevis pins have a head at one end and one or more cross holes at the other end that allow insertion of cotter pins to lock components in place. Cotter pins have two prongs that can be inserted into the hole of clevis pins or other fasteners and bent to secure them in place.
